UN Women: The Taliban has issued more than 50 restrictive decrees against women

The United Nations Women’s Office says that the Taliban have issued more than 50 decrees, orders and restrictions in the last two years.

In an article that he published on his website yesterday (Monday, 23 Asad) on the occasion of the second year of the Taliban’s domination of Afghanistan, it is stated that through these orders, the Taliban “have carefully imposed the Taliban. A set of unequal policies.”

The article states that these policies affect all aspects of Afghan women’s lives, determining “where women can go and what they can wear.”

The United Nations Women’s Office has also announced the creation of a special page titled “After August” to document and publish the narratives of Afghan women.

The organization said the page was created based on the belief that “when injustice becomes the norm, silence is inexcusable.”

UN Women has said that this page is “a digital space to document and share the experiences of Afghan women living, fighting and resisting in Afghanistan today.”

The United Nations Women’s Department has created this page to collect and document the narratives of Afghan women in collaboration with a number of media and institutions, including “Zemtimes”.

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, they have imposed severe restrictions on the rights and freedoms of women in the country.
