Religious Persecution in Kabul: Taliban Minister Blocks Mosque and Jails Elders

The Voice of an Oppressed Community: A Call for Justice
We, the Shia community of the Darul Aman district, officially declare our strong condemnation of the unlawful actions taken by the Minister of Justice, Abdul Hakim. He has illegally obstructed the construction of our mosque, despite the fact that all ownership documents and permits have been verified multiple times by official government delegations.
Furthermore, he has blocked access to our ancestral cemetery, which holds a history spanning four hundred years. Following the burial of a deceased community member—an act performed in accordance with our religious traditions and rights—more than 26 individuals were arbitrarily detained. These detainees include tribal elders, community influencers, and the representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani. They were arrested without any criminal charges and are currently being held in a private detention facility.
We unequivocally condemn this blatant oppression and call upon all media outlets to convey our voice to the nation and the international community. This is not merely a complaint; it is the outcry of a community whose fundamental religious and human rights are being trampled upon.
