Two commanders and at least eight members of the Azadi Front were killed in a clash with the Taliban in Panjshir
Informed sources report an increase in the number of casualties among members of the Azadi Front in the conflict with the Taliban in Panjshir.
On Tuesday, the 22nd of Hamal, the sources said that following the clash on Monday night, the 21st of Hamal, in the mountains of Shatal district of Panjshir province, Akmal Amir, the commander and Basir Andrabi, his deputy, along with at least eight members of the Azadi Front, were killed.
Meanwhile, several members of the Azadi Front forces have been captured during these battles.
Sources claim that at least five Taliban fighters have been killed as a result of these clashes.
This conflict started when the Taliban launched a large-scale military operation against the positions of the Azadi Front and the National Resistance Front in the village of Hanroh Bala in the Koklami valley of Salang district of Parwan province last night.
The sources state that after this attack, Akmal Amir and his subordinates were moving towards the Shatel district of Panjshir from the mountains when they were ambushed by the Taliban.
However, the sources claim that the Taliban set fire to three houses and arrested at least two residents of the area during the clashes in Koklami Salang valley.
The Ministry of Defense of the Taliban has also announced that Akmal Amir, the military commander of Azadi Front, and eight of his subordinates were killed in a clash with the group’s forces in Salang district of Parwan province.
Kokalami valley of Salang district has a common border with Shatel district of Panjshir province. Based on the reports, the forces of the National Resistance Front and the Azadi Front used to travel through this route in some cases.
Azadi Front has not officially said anything about this.
The National Resistance Front has confirmed the killing of these people.
Apparently, with the arrival of spring, the clashes between the Taliban and the military fronts against this group have resumed.
