The World Health Organization announced the number of victims of the Herat earthquake at 17,000
The World Health Organization announced that at least 17,000 people were injured in five districts of Herat following the occurrence of two strong earthquakes in Herat.
In its latest report on the Herat earthquake, the World Health Organization said that this number of people were injured in Zindajan, Golran, Rabat Sangi, Kohsan and Anjil districts of this province.
According to this report, the World Health Organization and 15 other aid organizations have reached about 11,911 injured in Zindajan, Najil, Kohsan and Herat districts of this province in the past few days.
According to this organization, 9,170 people were injured in Zandjan, 1,296 people were injured in Injil, 205 people were injured in Kohsan, and 1,240 people were injured in the center of Herat.
The World Health Organization has also announced that at least 1,714 houses in Zandjan, 1,373 houses in Golran and 295 houses in Rabat were destroyed due to the occurrence of these two strong earthquakes.
This institution added about the condition of the injured in this incident: a total of 698 patients have been admitted to the 650-bed hospital in Herat Province, of which 17 patients have been admitted to this hospital, 53 patients have been discharged, and the rest of the patients have been discharged. “The injured have been discharged in the past days.”
This is despite the fact that before this, international institutions had announced the number of injured people in the two earthquakes of 6.3 magnitude in Herat as 12 thousand people.
It should be noted that several districts of Herat witnessed two strong earthquakes and several aftershocks on Saturday and Tuesday.
According to relief organizations, at least three thousand people have been killed or injured following these earthquakes.
