The US State Department issued a statement saying that the ministry will renew its memorandum with the Afghan Evac coalition on Monday.

In the announcement published on Friday, it is said that Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, will also be present at the signing ceremony.

AfghanEvac is a coalition of more than 200 organizations working with the United States government to support the relocation efforts of Afghans in the United States.

A number of Afghans who have Special Immigrant Visa (SIV), P1 and P2 US cases are complaining about the slowness of the processing of their cases.

Rafiullah, who says she was an interpreter for American forces, told Azadi Radio that she has been following her special immigration visa case since 2018.

She says that due to security issues, she is staying in a third country until her asylum case is finalized.

“We are waiting for our own visa. There is no work or duty here. All the money we had was spent. We can’t afford to pay the house rent and expenses. We live in misery.”

Ahmad Afghan, one of the holders of Case P2 America, says that she and her family left their entire lives in Afghanistan and came to Pakistan to investigate their immigration cases, and now, after 15 months, they have not received any results:

“There is no opportunity for our children to study here. We are waiting for the US visa, the US should review our cases, or at least the US should transfer us to an immigration camp.”

Meanwhile, the International Refugee Organization welcomed the extension of the residence visas of Afghans transferred to America in a statement on Friday.

The US Department of Homeland Security announced a new process on Thursday last week, according to which Afghan refugees in this country can extend their parole and short-term stay and continue their lives and work in this country.

However, the International Refugee Organization added that this visa is temporary, so they want the US Congress to re-introduce and approve the Afghanistan Adjustment Act so that Afghans can obtain permanent residency based on it.

Yael Shacher, director of the International Refugee Organization for America and Europe, said in this statement that they also want the Congress and the Biden administration to create more routes to the United States of America for many Afghans who are at risk outside of Afghanistan.

This is while after the re-establishment of the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, America and its allies evacuated tens of thousands of their Afghan colleagues and Afghans at risk, of which 90,000 of them were resettled in America.

Also, a number of other Afghans who have US SIV, P1 and P2 immigration files are currently in third countries waiting for their cases to be processed by the US government.

Although the American government has repeatedly announced that it is committed to transferring these Afghans to the United States, they complain from time to time about the slowness of the process of investigating their cases.
