The Russian ambassador in South Africa presented the “BRICS” banknote to the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. In the central part of this banknote, the flags of five BRICS members can be seen.
On the back of it are the flags of 14 countries, including the tricolor flag of Afghanistan and the name “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan”.

This 100 unit banknote was presented at a banquet held on the occasion of the United Arab Emirates’ membership in the BRICS group at the country’s embassy in South Africa.

In the central part of this banknote, the flags of five members of this group (Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa) are inserted in a circle.

On the back of this donated banknote, the flags of 14 countries, including the tricolor flag of Afghanistan, which is the identity symbol of the pre-Taliban period, are also included.

In the central part of this banknote, the name of each country is written in its main languages, but the name of Afghanistan is written in Pashto language, “Da Afghanistan, Islamic Emirate”. Taliban officials call their group the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Russia’s ambassador to South Africa, Ilya Rogachev, said the banknote was made by Russia.
