According to the announcement of the criminal department of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany,the perpetrator of the attack on the advertising website of a right-wing group critical of Islam in Mannheim, Germany, on Friday, May 31  is a 25-year-old man from Herat, Afghanistan. 

The knife attack took place on Friday near a billboard linked to the Islamic critic group Pax Europa, injuring six people, including a police officer, in the city’s central market square.

Investigators are still looking for the motive of the attacker to clarify the hidden angles of this incident. “What worries us the most is the motive,” says the Baden-Württemberg state criminal police.

The assailant was shot by police during the attack and was taken to hospital for surgery and is currently unavailable for questioning, so the investigation into his motive has not yet progressed.
