Following the increase in mysterious murders of women in different regions of the country, the “Movement of Powerful Women of Afghanistan” accuses the Taliban of being involved in these murders.
On Saturday, the 4th of Sanblah, the Powerful Women’s Movement announced by publishing a statement that during the two years of the Taliban’s rule over Afghanistan, dozens of “active women” were killed by the Taliban in Kabul in a “mysterious and targeted” manner. However, the Afghan women’s movement has called on countries and human rights institutions to punish the Taliban through the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
It should be noted that after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, mysterious murders increased and according to published reports, at least 60 women in 10 provinces were mysteriously murdered and dozens more disappeared in the last two years.
In the latest case, Hora Sadat, a female YouTuber, was suspiciously murdered in Kabul’s 18th district late last week.
Sadat’s murder has caused widespread protests, and a number of civil and media activists hold the Taliban responsible for these mysterious murders. However, the spokesperson of the Taliban security command in Kabul says that three people have been arrested in connection with this incident and the investigation is ongoing.
