Taliban in Ghazni warned Shiites about ISIS attack on mourning ceremony

Local sources in Ghazni have reported the warning of the Taliban security officials about the possibility of an ISIS attack on the Ashura ceremony in this province.

Sources told the media on Thursday that the Taliban made these comments in a meeting with members of the Ghazni Shia Ulema Council.

The Taliban have added that based on the information discovered by this group, there is a possibility of attacking the Ashura ceremony and this ceremony should be limited to celebration.

According to these sources, in the last two days, the Taliban have deployed more forces in the Shiite areas of the province and increased the posts inside the city.

It should be noted that during the holy week of Ghazni, the Taliban imposed restrictions on Muharram mourners in Ghazni and prohibited them from raising and carrying mourning flags and drinking water.
