Afghan refugees, Germany evacuation, Afghan journalists, at-risk Afghans, Pakistan refugees, German legal organizations, humanitarian admission program Germany, Kabul fall 2021, Afghan collaborators Germany, Afghan News24, Fahim Sajadi report, Afghanistan crisis, German government criticism, refugee protection Germany, Afghanistan evacuation delay Report by: Fahim Sajadi – Afghan News24 Date: 10 November 2025 Several prominent German legal and judicial organizations have issued a joint statement calling on the German Federal Government to immediately proceed with the humanitarian admission of Afghan nationals who remain at risk more than four years after the fall of Kabul. The statement, signed by the German Bar Association, the Association of Democratic Lawyers, the Republican Lawyers’ Association, the German Women Lawyers’ Association, and the New Judges’ Association, highlights the critical situation of Afghan citizens who worked with German institutions and international organizations prior to the Taliban takeover in 2021. According to the organizations, over 2,000 Afghans are still stranded in Pakistan, despite having received formal promises of relocation to Germany after undergoing strict security and eligibility screenings. Many of them, including teachers, journalists, human-rights activists, and former project employees, left everything behind in Afghanistan and now face ongoing threats. The statement sharply criticizes the German Government for reportedly offering some of these individuals financial compensation in exchange for withdrawing their relocation requests — a move described as: • “Unethical,” • “Politically disastrous,” and • “A legal disgrace.” The organizations emphasize that Germany has a moral and legal obligation to keep its promises and protect individuals whose lives are endangered due to their cooperation with German entities. The statement concludes with a firm call to action: “Protecting those at risk and honoring commitments are fundamental principles of a democratic and lawful state. Humanitarian admission — now!” Afghan News24 will continue to monitor updates regarding the evacuation and resettlement process.
