At approximately 1:30 AM (Islamabad time) today, Pakistan’s police and security forces, without any prior notice, surrounded Argentina Park in Islamabad with a large deployment of personnel. They suddenly launched violent assaults on women civil activists, children, and male refugees residing in the area.

For the past four months, these refugees have been living in makeshift protest tents inside the park, enduring extreme heat, heavy rainfall, and freezing nights. Despite being deprived of the most basic necessities of life, they have been forced to continue their peaceful protest and pursuit of justice.

The forced relocation of nearly four hundred vulnerable families, along with the threat of their deportation to Afghanistan, constitutes a clear violation of all international standards and norms regarding the protection of refugees. Such actions pose a direct and serious threat to their safety and their lives.

We call on all civil society activists, human rights defenders, and individuals of conscience to amplify the voices of these defenseless refugees and bring their plight to the attention of international organizations, human rights institutions, and global media outlets. Remaining silent in the face of this systematic violence is equivalent to abandoning human beings whose only means of resistance is their cry for justice.

Let us fulfill our moral, human, and social responsibility by standing with these vulnerable families, ensuring that their lives and futures are not lost in the darkness created by indifference.
