Candidate for the 2024 US election: I do not support aid to Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban

Jim Marter, one of the candidates of the Republican Party in the 2024 US presidential election, says that he does not support providing aid to Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban.

Jim Marter stated: “While the Taliban are running the country, I do not support aid to Afghanistan. They continue to marginalize women. We cannot ensure that aid goes to the hungry and those who need care. Healthy people need it.

He has asked his Democratic rival, Lauren Underwood, to clarify his position on providing direct and indirect aid to voters of the current US administration led by Biden.

Addressing the Taliban as terrorists, Marter said: “Today I call on Lauren Underwood to let her constituents and the American people know whether she will stand up to direct and indirect US aid through the United Nations’ global humanitarian support.”

The US presidential candidate is still running to replace Democrat Lauren Underwood in Illinois.

Illinois is one of the most democratic states in America, where Democrats have won elections in the last half century.

Meanwhile, the Republican representatives of the US House of Representatives and some previous government officials of this country have criticized the policies of the Joe Biden administration towards Afghanistan.
