Alleged killing of civilians in Afghanistan; Australian veteran’s defamation lawsuit against three media outlets fails

Australian veteran Roberts Smith has lost a defamation lawsuit against three newspapers that accused him of involvement in the killing of six civilians in Afghanistan.

According to Reuters news agency, Federal Court Judge Anthony Besanko in Sydney said in a summary of his findings on Thursday (June 1) that the newspapers proved four of the six counts of murder in which Roberts Smith is accused.
