AfghanNews:Human Rights Watch: The international community should stop waiting for girls’ schools to open in Afghanistan

The head of women at Human Rights Watch says that the international community should stop waiting for girls’ schools to open in Afghanistan and respond to this reality.

Hiderbar, the head of women at Human Rights Watch, said in a tweet today that the gates of girls’ schools will not be opened for students above the sixth grade.

Hyderbar said this in response to the statements of Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban, who said that there is a difference among religious scholars regarding the opening of the gates of girls’ schools.

The head of women in Human Rights Watch said that the international community should take immediate alternative education options for Afghan girls.

Hyderbar also asked the international community to impose a travel ban and other necessary sanctions on Taliban leaders.
