A member of the Tehran Islamic Council has said that Afghan immigrants are “the cause of the entry of various diseases into Iran”.
Iranian media reported on Sunday, 21st of Gemini, that Nasser Amani, a member of the Tehran Islamic Council, during a visit to “Shush neighborhood”, considered the increase in rent in this area to be affected by the presence of immigrants whom he called “alien citizens”. .
Stating that 60% of Shush Baft neighborhood is worn out, he said: “The presence of foreign nationals is one of the problems in this area and 50% of the residents are foreign nationals.”
He claimed: “40-50 meter residential units are rented by 30 people, and this has caused a sharp increase in rent.”
According to Amani, Afghan immigrants are the cause of “introduction of all kinds of diseases to Iran” and in Shush neighborhood, people are worried about their children.
He stated that Tehran municipality has identified 37 smoke houses, most of whose residents are “foreign citizens”.
This is despite the fact that in recent days and after the escalation of tensions between the Taliban and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the situation of Afghan refugees in that country has also worsened.
Iran, Afghanistan’s western neighbor, has always been accused of violating the rights of Afghan immigrants and treating them violently.
This country hosts millions of immigrants from Afghanistan.
It is said that hundreds of thousands of citizens of this country have immigrated to Iran after the Taliban regained control of the country.
