A defense lawyer and the Pakistani police have announced that a Chinese citizen who was arrested in this country on charges of blasphemy has been released from a maximum security prison on bail.
AFP, quoting Atif Khan Jadoun, the lawyer of “Tian”, a Chinese citizen, reported on Friday, April 28, that her client was released from prison by a court order after issuing a bail order in the amount of 200,000 Pakistani kaldars.
It is not yet clear whether Tian will have to stay in Pakistan to face trial or be allowed to return to China. The Chinese embassy had previously said that it was investigating her case.
