Lana Nasibah, the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the United Nations and the rotating president of the Security Council in June, emphasized in a press conference on Thursday that Afghanistan is at the top of the Security Council’s agenda.

He said that this Council will hold a meeting on Afghanistan on the 31st of June.

The UAE ambassador to the United Nations has played an active role in the Security Council’s critical stance against the Taliban. He has repeatedly criticized the Taliban for discriminating and oppressing Afghan women.

Nasibeh and the ambassador of Japan was the author of the Security Council resolution in the month of Thor, which for the first time condemned the ban on women’s work and education by the Taliban.
