Women’s warm welcome to book fairs in the country

This year, book fairs in the country have been well received by women. In Kabul, in Dar al-Aman Palace, the presence of women and girls in the book and Quran exhibition that was held is more than men. They say that because the doors of schools and universities are closed, they amuse themselves by reading books and studying. Fatemeh, one of the visitors of this exhibition, told this news event: Since I cannot go to university and school, I came here to get inspiration and read books.
A street book fair was also held in Herat, and the number of female visitors to this fair was high.
Gulshah, one of the women who visits the book fair in Herat, says that today, with the doors of educational institutions closed, girls can raise their level of awareness in this way. Masoume Yektan, another visitor, tells the media that this exhibition plays an important role in introducing girls and women to all kinds of books.
Syed Mustafa Hashemi, one of the organizers of the Kabul exhibition, said in this news event that the purpose of this exhibition is to connect with the Quran and the book. So that young people, especially girls, can maintain their relationship with reading and books. He asks other cultural institutions to fill a part of the educational gap by holding reading competitions and exhibitions for women.
