The National Journalists’ House of Afghanistan, in collaboration with Rana University, organized a scientific symposium titled “Media and Social Awakening; How Can Rumi’s Ideas Serve as a Roadmap for Journalists?” This event, centered on Rumi’s thoughts as a guiding framework for journalists, was held in the Peace and Knowledge Hall at Rana University, with the participation of university professors, media institution leaders, and students.
The event began with a welcome speech by one of the professors from Rana University, who described the symposium as a valuable step toward fostering social awareness. Following this, Sayed Yaseen Mateen, the president of the National Journalists’ House of Afghanistan, highlighted the importance of Rumi’s ideas in the field of journalism and emphasized their role in strengthening ethics, responsibility, and the pursuit of truth in the media.
Dr. Mustafa Aqeli and Sayed Mohammad Baqir Kazemi Shahab further explored Rumi’s philosophical and intellectual contributions in the context of journalism. They presented scholarly analyses and recited poetry from Rumi, focusing on how his wisdom and philosophy could guide media professionals in promoting awareness and reinforcing Islamic and human values.
This program also underscored the necessity of drawing from Rumi’s teachings to navigate media toward enlightenment and social responsibility.
It is noteworthy that this event follows a prior memorandum of understanding signed between the National Journalists’ House of Afghanistan and the Faculty of Journalism at Rana University.
