Former Afghan President Calls for Greater Indian Focus on Education in Afghanistan
Hamid Karzai, former President of Afghanistan, has urged the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to pay more attention to the issue of education in Afghanistan.
Karzai met with J.P. Singh, Joint Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran.
According to a statement released by Karzai’s press office, the two sides discussed the longstanding and historical relations between the two countries and emphasized strengthening bilateral ties.
Karzai also expressed gratitude for India’s support to the people of Afghanistan and called for greater attention to be given to the education of Afghan youth, the development of trade exchanges, and easier travel between India and Afghanistan.
Previously, the former President of Afghanistan, in response to India’s successful Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission, had said that India and Afghanistan are in the same region, but the main factor behind India’s development is its focus on education and science.
