Voices of Refugees from Pakistan Alive but Without a Future/

Report by: Fahim Sajjadi

We are a group of Afghan refugees who have been living in Pakistan for years—without any rights, without any future.

We fled terror, war, death, and persecution just to survive. But even here, life holds no meaning for us.

We have no legal documents—no passport, no residence permit, no visa.

The only thing we have is a UNHCR registration slip; but even that carries no value in the eyes of the police.

We live in fear every single day: fear of arrest, fear of imprisonment, fear of deportation.

If we are sent back to Afghanistan, our lives will be in danger.

Many of us are targeted because of our ethnicity, religion, or background.

There is no safety for us there—no home, no family, no support.

And here in Pakistan, nothing is left for us either.

We have no jobs, no income, and we live in poverty—struggling even for shelter and food.

Our children are deprived of education.

Our sick remain without treatment.

Our youth are depressed and hopeless.

And all this is happening while the world remains silent.

The United Nations is silent. Human rights organizations are indifferent.

We feel forgotten.

But we will no longer remain silent.

We have come to raise our voices—voices of pain, cries of hope.

We don’t want to be seen as enemies. We only want to survive.

We ask the United Nations: Why don’t you see us?

Why is there no solution for thousands of refugees?

Where are the promises you made about human dignity?

We call on the countries that still have a human conscience: Extend your hands to us.

We call on the media: Share our voices.

We call on human rights organizations: Stand with us.

We call on the Government of Pakistan: Stop the deportation of refugees.

We are human beings, not criminals.

Our only “crime” was escaping death.

We do not want to become victims of neglect, politics, and injustice.

We are asking for real support, lasting solutions, and human acceptance.

We seek a safe life—with dignity and a future.

All we ask is for the world to see us.

We still have hope—but time is running out.

We are not hopeless, but our strength is fading.

We are alive—but not truly living.

Please hear us.

We are the forgotten of today—but we can be the survivors of tomorrow.

If only you would listen to our voice.
