As the month of Muharram begins, the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has reportedly raided and destroyed tents and Hussainiyas (mourning halls) set up by civilians to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (A). The militants also stormed areas near the holy shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab (S), shut down gathering spaces, and imposed restrictions on access to the shrine to prevent mourning ceremonies.
In addition, the Syrian regime has reportedly banned all mourning ceremonies for Imam Husayn (A) across the country
