Former Iranian ambassador in Kabul: Islamabad’s influence on the Taliban has decreased

Mohammadreza Bahrami, the former ambassador of Iran in Kabul, announced that the announcement of “decisive operations” by Pakistan shows the decline of Islamabad’s influence over the Taliban.
Bahrami last wrote these sentences by publishing a message on the X page.

According to him, Pakistan’s recent “anti-terrorist program” was announced after Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China.

He has stated that this means reducing Pakistan’s influence on the Taliban, increasing Beijing’s interests in the region compared to the United States, requiring this country to cooperate with Islamabad in “anti-terrorism” and reducing American security concerns in the region.

Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, criticized the launch of “Operation Resolute” by the Pakistani government.

It should be noted that the government of Pakistan announced on Saturday this week that it will begin its military operation under the title of “Strengthening Resolve” to “fight terrorism”.
