The first round of face-to-face negotiations between the tax authorities of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan regarding the prevention of double taxation (double taxation) and other important related matters was held at the Department of Revenue and Customs of the Ministry of Finance.
In these negotiations, Afghanistan was represented by Abdul Wali Nouri, Deputy Revenue Technical Officer, Neda Mohammad Seddiqi, Head of Legal Services and Policy of the General Directorate of Revenue, Hedayatullah Jalal, Head of International Taxation, Abdul Haq Mansour, Head of Foreign Relations, Shoaib Shafiq, Deputy of the Central Asia Desk of the Third Directorate. After comprehensive discussions, the parties reached a general agreement in three working days, except for a few items, and the aforementioned document was first signed by the head of the negotiating team. The conclusion of the contract prevented the payment of double tax (DTA) and caused the expansion of economic and commercial relations, increased investment volume, increased mutual cooperation, prevented evasion and reduced taxes, and facilitated national and international trade. In addition, the above agreement is very important in order to attract foreign investment.
The next round of these negotiations will be held in the near future between the top tax authorities of the two countries.
