Hebatullah Akhundzeh, the leader of the Taliban group, called the criticism of religious scholars in the media “against Sharia” and said that these criticisms have a negative effect on the Taliban government.
The audio message attributed to the Taliban leader was shared on social networks on Tuesday, April 17th.
Addressing the scholars, he said: It is against Sharia that you appear in the media and wave at me and ask why you did or did not do this.
He continued: This is not a recommendation for me, being in the international media has a negative effect instead of a positive effect.
According to him, this weakens the Taliban government, creates mistrust and shows that there is a distance between the religious scholars and the Taliban.
He has asked religious scholars to share it with him privately if they have any advice for him.
The statement of the Taliban leader comes at a time when the Taliban have arrested and tortured a large number of people for criticizing their government in different provinces of the country in the last two years.
In the latest cases, the Taliban have arrested two religious scholars in Kunduz and Nangarhar provinces for criticizing the Taliban. (feminine)
