According to the introduction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, the responsibility of the Afghan embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan has been entrusted to the Taliban’s charge d’affaires.
Sources confirmed to the BBC that Magfarullah Shahab, the son of Shahabuddin Dalar, the Taliban’s Minister of Mines, who was appointed as first secretary (first secretary) two months ago, became the head of the Afghan embassy in Tashkent on Friday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban dismissed the former ambassador of Afghanistan in a letter, but has not yet commented on the new chief.
Ahmad Khalid Elmi, the ambassador nominated by the previous government of Afghanistan, remained in his position during more than two and a half years of Taliban rule. Other diplomats and most of the employees of this embassy had also gone.
Tashkent has established close relations with the Taliban government. Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban introduced two new diplomats to this embassy. Another Taliban envoy will also arrive in Tashkent soon.
