Islamabad High Court: Refugees approved by the United Nations should not be imprisoned
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) asked the government of Pakistan to implement a scheme against refugees in the country under Article 31 of the 1951 Refugee Convention.
The Express Tribune reported on Thursday, September 21, that under the scheme, refugees will be able to present themselves to UNHCR when they enter Pakistan to go to a third country.

According to the 21-page judgment of the Islamabad High Court, which was sent to the police of that country, after the status of foreign refugees is confirmed by the United Nations, the refugee should not be interrogated or imprisoned like a prisoner.
