The Foreign Relations Committee of the British Parliament has requested written documents regarding the country’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and progress in implementing the committee’s orders in this regard.
This committee has said that it is going to hold a meeting next month to present documents in this field.
In this meeting, the actions of the British government regarding the orders of its previous report were also examined and the government was requested to provide written documents in this regard.
Last year, the Foreign Relations Committee of the British Parliament announced in an investigative report the existence of systematic failures in the fields of intelligence, diplomacy, planning and preparation in the management of the withdrawal from Afghanistan by the British government.
A special page has been created on the website of this committee so that those who have evidence in this field can send it in the form of a letter by the third day of October.
The British government has also been asked to provide documents related to Afghanistan’s security situation, the fight against terrorism, human rights and other issues.
Last year, British parliamentarians published a report calling the country’s withdrawal from Afghanistan a disaster, betrayal and failure, and emphasized that this action is detrimental to British national interests.
In February of this year, the defense committee of the British Parliament called the withdrawal from Afghanistan a black page in the history of the country’s army and demanded to investigate this issue.
