A former soldier died after a year of torture by the Taliban
Sources say that a former army soldier named Ziadullah was mysteriously killed in a Taliban prison in Mazar-e-Sharif after being imprisoned for about a year.
According to Ziyadullah’s sources, he was not active in the army after the Taliban came to power. But he was arrested and imprisoned by the Taliban last year.
This source added that on Wednesday 25 Asad, the Taliban tortured five prisoners in the prison of this group in Mazar-e-Sharif, and two of them, including Ziadullah, died hours later.
Another source said that after Ziadullah was killed, the Taliban told his family to “tell people that he committed suicide.”
This source adds that the Taliban strangled and killed him.
Ziadullah was a resident of Marmal district of Balkh province and is survived by four children.
The killing of these soldiers takes place while the Taliban have approved the amnesty of their leader.
