The Associated Press reported that nearly 200 others were injured in the incident.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has confirmed that the explosion was caused by a suicide attack.
Maulana Ziaullah is one of the senior leaders of Jamiat Ulema Islam Pakistan among those killed in this explosion.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have condemned this incident and demanded to follow it up.
