Member of Parliament of Iran: In order to receive the title of Iran, the Taliban embassy in Tehran should be closed
Fadahosein Maliki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Council, proposed to close the Taliban embassy in Tehran in order to receive Iran’s title from Hirmand River.
In an interview with Asr Kishre website, he said that after the President of Iran warned the rulers of Afghanistan, the Iranian government and parliament expected something to happen, but unfortunately nothing happened. Maliki added: “The Haqba issue is on the agenda of the National Security Council Committee, which should take a non-diplomatic way.”
He warned the Taliban and said: We have many tools that we can use, for example, to close the Taliban embassy in Iran, to reduce political, commercial and economic connections through the Chabahar route.
He warned about the consequences of not naming Hirmand and said: “We are witnessing the gradual death and emptying of the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan region, and the first step to solve the problem of the people is to implement the Hirmand title.”
The Taliban have always emphasized that they adhere to the Hirmand Treaty. But there is no water in Afghanistan. Iran, however, rejects this claim of the Taliban and has said by publishing satellite images that there is enough water in the Kajaki Dam.
