The US State Department extended the agreement to support immigrants and the withdrawal of former colleagues of this country from Afghanistan.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at the signing of the agreement on Monday, June 12, that Washington is working with civil society groups to bring more Afghans to the United States.
He emphasized that the United States remains committed to the withdrawal of its former partners.
According to Blinken, more than 97 thousand Afghans have been transferred to America so far.
He appreciated the cooperation of private institutions and said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work in coordination with them to find better and more ways to transfer people in danger who are trapped in Afghanistan and third countries.
By signing a new document, the US State Department announced that it has adopted a new approach to accelerate the process of evacuating Afghans.
Eliminating the requirement to fill out the DS 157 form and finding a new way to reunite family members are part of this new approach.
Meanwhile, the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) announced in his report two months ago that at the current rate, it will take 31 years to reach the request of 175,000 Afghans for a special immigration visa and transfer to America. (feminine)
