One of the high-ranking officials of the Iranian government has informed about the new restrictions of the government of this country on the work of Afghan immigrants in Isfahan.
According to the new restrictions, from now on, foreigners in Isfahan will only be employed in manual work and will not have the right to work in food stores and greenhouses. According to the statements of this competent official of the Iranian government, foreigners in Isfahan can work in hard and exhausting jobs only if they have a residence card and work permit. These new restrictions have faced a sharp reaction from human rights activists and Afghan immigrants living in Iran. The head of Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission describes this approach of the Iranian government as insulting and oppressive and says that its continuation will spread hatred, disgust and weaken relations, interdependence and security in the region. Also, a number of Afghan immigrants in Iran want to remove these restrictions.
