The Afghanistan national disabled basketball team won the runner-up title of the China Para Asian Games quota tournament with four wins and one loss.
The Afghan team lost to the Kuwait team in its final match on Saturday with the result of 58-56 and won the second place and the runner-up title among the 6 participating teams in this tournament.
Afghanistan had previously defeated the Philippine, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and Chinese Taipei teams, but was defeated by the Kuwait team.
With this result, the teams of Kuwait, Afghanistan and the Philippines won the quota to attend the Para-Asian Games in China.
This tournament will be held on October 22-28, hosted by the city of Hangzhou, China. In that event, 22 sports related to the disabled are included, including wheelchair basketball.
