: More than one million girls are missing out on education

The statement of UNAMA states: The mission of the United Nations Vice-Chancellor in Afghanistan once again calls on the ruling authorities to change all their discriminatory policies against women and girls. It should be mentioned that the Taliban group closed the gates of schools to girls above the sixth grade after regaining control of Afghanistan. This group also issued a decree prohibiting women from working.
